Who We Are

North Florida Child Development provides a culturally relevant, high-quality, comprehensive child development program with the philosophy that no child can be educated in isolation of his or her family, and no single program can make lasting changes without the support and involvement of the child’s family, community, and the programs that operate within that community.

Vision Statement

NFCD will educate our communities’ children and families to excel and compete globally.

Mission Statement

NFCD will encourage families’ exploration of goals and experiences that enhance knowledge and learning of the world around them.  In addition, we empower parents to be an advocate for their children and families by providing high-quality education, encouragement, and assistance.

Our Purpose

NFCD actively engages parents recognizing family participation throughout the program as key to strong child outcomes. NFCD takes into account a child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual development; involves parents as their child’s first teacher; prepares children to be ready for school; and gives parents information about child development and other topics of interest. NFCD provides accessibility to comprehensive services to all children and families in the rural counties of Gulf, Calhoun, Liberty, Wakulla, and Madison in the panhandle of North Florida.

We provide high quality, center-based, early childhood development with research-based curriculum, individualized for each child’s development stage. At NFCD, we make sure children learn and interact in age-appropriate classrooms, and playgrounds, where they can develop emerging language and literacy skills. We provide nutritious, family-style meals and opportunities to learn self-help skills such as brushing teeth daily. We also offer sensory, developmental, and health and dental screenings and/or evaluations for each child.
